What is Art?

Art is something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful.
Art is something that expresses important ideas or feelings.
Art is the creation of artworks by artists such as paintings, sculptures, etc., that are created to be beautiful or to express important ideas or feelings.

​Why Study Art?

In this lesson, we will look at creating our own definition of art.  Because the definition of beauty can be different for everyone, we will look at how that can change each individuals' personal definition of art.  We will explore different art forms from realism to abstract and discuss how art can challenge the way we think and see the world around us.
