Circular Weaving Project 2015-2018
During the fibre art unit, the Art and Design 2200 students learned how to weave. Because there was a large frame and a large amount of nails, we created a large circular loom to create a colour wheel weave.
Students from Marystown Central High began the project and slowly worked on it from 2015-2017, then the project was moved to Baccalieu Collegiate where it was worked on until completion. At Baccalieu the circular weave found it's purpose.

This was an old rocking chair that was found in the Fabrication room of Baccalieu Collegiate. It was handmade and is believed to be from the old Old Perlican hospital maternity ward. Students worked all year to fix, rebuild, sand, and restore this chair. A lot of love and care was poured into this chair.
