LINE

Because our element of LINE deals with the simplest mark that can be use to create a piece of art, we will be creating Zentangles.

Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns using lines. It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity. Zentangle provides artistic satisfaction and an increased sense of personal well being.

Zentangles were invented by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas.  For more information on them, click here.

For this project, you will follow these instructions:
  1. Choose an animal that will be your focal point
  2. Draw a simple line drawing of the animal filling most of your page
  3. Fill each area/shape of the animal with a different pattern
  4. Fill the background with patterns or a solid colour
  5. Outline all pencil lines with a fine tip sharpie or a felt tip pen
